First things first
What's the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Hemp and Marijuana are both members of the same family of plants known as Cannabis. Hemp is harvested commercially for its seeds and stalks, which are both used for a wide range of products: from food and supplements, to textiles, building materials and biofuels. Hemp does not cause a psychoactive effect because it is high in CBD and low in THC.
Marijuana is a plant mostly harvested for the euphoric properties, which creates the feeling of a "high". This is caused by the high level of THC in the flowers of the plant. Due to hybridization over time, marijuana is very high in THC and low in CBD.
What is CBD?
There are over 100 different cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant so far, and CBD is just one of them. CBD is non-intoxicating and therefore won't make people high. It's safe, regardless of age.
Your endocannabinoid system
Everyone has an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is now being seen as the "master regulator". This system regulates the hormones, sleep, mood, appetite and overall homeostasis. There are two main types of cannabinoid receptors - CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors are found on nearly every cell of the body excluding the amygdala portion of the brain. Your body naturally makes its own cannabinoids, but due to lifestyle habits, poor diet and stress this system greatly benefits when supplementing with CBD from hemp.
How does CBD influences your ECS system?
CBD & ECS
When a person ingests CBD, cannabinoid receptors become more sensitive to the neurotransmitters your brain and gut are already making. Research indicates that when you supplement your ECS with nontoxic, non-habit-forming cannabinoids, you may create a healthier endocannabinoid system and become a more balanced, healthier you.
